Business Automation Ltd. has been awarded the for the ‘Automation of Three Priority Processes – Import Permit (IP), Export Permit (EP) and Sub-Contracting Permit (SCP)’ at Dhaka Export Processing Zoze (DEPZ) under Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA). The project is funded by International Finance Corporation – Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund (IFC BICF), the World Bank Group. Under this project a contract has been signed between IFC BICF and Business Automation Ltd. on 17th June 2009.
Business Automation Ltd. will assist IFC BICF to design a pilot computerized system to issue import permits (IP), export permits (EP) and sub contracting permits (SCP) (3 processes) to the clients in the Dhaka EPZ. These three processes are manual, which prevents BEPZA from providing an up to date and efficient investment tool to its potential and existing investors. All three identified processes are currently manual and BEPZA lacks IT professionals with sufficient experience.
Business Automation Ltd. will develop a web based solution for staff of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Agency (BEPZA) to perform specific business functions. The solution is to be deployed in the Dhaka EPZ, one of the EPZ of the BEPZA, with a follow on activity that will require extending the solution to all EPZs managed by BEPZA.
